Description:
Mirror
Lake is a small shallow lake located just north of Crater Lake in the Indian
Peaks Wilderness. This lake contains small brook trout and is easily fished.
The lake is surrounded by spruce forest and makes a beautiful foreground setting
for pictures of Lone Eagle Peak.

Mirror
Lake can be reached via the Pawnee Pass Trail from the east and the Cascade
Creek Trail from the west. It is about 7.7 miles to the Crater Lake Trail from
the east and about 6.3 miles from the west. From this junction it is approximately
one mile to the lake. The Pawnee Pass Trail is the more difficult trail.
Take
Highway 34 north from Granby to the entrance of the Arapaho National Recreation
Area. Travel east on Forest Road 125 for about 10 miles to the Monarch Lake
Trailhead and the Cascade Creek Trail.
The
Pawnee Pass Trail can be reached via the Long Lake Trailhead. Take Highway 72
north from Nederland approximately eight miles to Ward. Turn west on Forest
Road 112 and travel about 3 miles to the entrance to the Brainard Lake Recreation
Area (there is a five dollar fee). It is another two miles to Brainard Lake.
Follow the road around the north side of the lake to the turnoff to the Long
Lake parking area. Turn right to the parking area. The Long Lake Trailhead is
located at the south end of the parking area.
