Monarch Lake

Description:
Monarch Lake is a beautiful lake located just outside the northwestern boundary of the Indian Peaks Wilderness. This lake contains populations of brook, rainbow, cutthroat, and brown trout. Trails travel completely around the lake offering fishing access to most of the shoreline. The south end of the lake is more difficult to reach.

Directions:
To reach Monarch Lake take Highway 40 north from I70 to Granby. Take Highway 34 north for about five miles to the Arapaho National Recreation Area entrance and Lake Granby. Turn right on Forest Road 125 and travel about ten miles to the lake.
