Rawah Lake #4

Description:
Rawah Lake #4 is the southern most lake of the Rawah Lakes. It is located in the Rawah Wilderness about .7 miles west of the Rawah Trail. This deep lake contains cutthroat trout and can be fished from about 50 percent of its shoreline. Camping is permitted in the area around the lake. This lake is in the alpine closure zone where open fires are not permitted.

Rawah Trail West Branch Trail


Directions:

Rawah Lake #3 can be best reached via the Rawah and West Branch trails from the West Branch Trailhead. Take Highway 287 north from Fort Collins to Laporte. Continue on Highway 287 to Highway 14. Travel west on 14 for 50 miles to the Laramie River Road. Turn right and travel 6.5 miles to the West Branch Trailhead. The trailhead is on the left side of the road. Hike 3.7 miles on the West Branch Trail and two miles on the Rawah Trail. Rawah Lake #4 is located about 270 feet above and .7 miles to the west of the trail. There is no trail up to the lake but it is not a difficult hike.
