Cherry Creek State Park
     

      Cherry Creek State Park is located southeast of Denver. It is a popular get-away for residents of the Denver area. The campground is about a quarter to a half mile east of Cherry Creek Reservoir in a grove of cottonwood trees. There are six paved loops plus three group camping loops. Some loops are well shaded while others are more open. All of the campsites are pull-throughs or long back-ins. Facilities include flush toilets, showers, and laundry. A dump station is located near the entrance. Campsites are well spaced. Four of the loops have full hookups. Five of the campsites are handicapped accessible. Three of those are reserved for disabled persons only.

      The campground is open year round and is especially popular during the summer months. Reservations are accepted.

Activities:
BOATING: There is a marina and boat ramps for launching your boat.

SWIMMING: There is a swim beach just west of the campground.

FISHING: Fishing for both warm and cold water fishing is available in the lake.

HIKING: Cherry Creek has several self-guided nature trails for everyone to enjoy year-round.

BIKING: Cherry Creek's extensive trail systems and bike lanes provide a popular workout spot year-round.

PICNICING: There are numerous picnic sites scattered through out the park.

HORSEBACK RIDING : Horses can be rented or boarded at the stables in the park.

OTHER: There is a shooting range and a model airplane field in the park.

Take I225 to the Parker Road (Highway 83) exit. Travel south on Parker Road for one mile to the east entrance to CherryCreekState Park.
